Frequently asked questions
Do Indian passport holders need a visa?
Yes. A Japan tourist visa is required and is included in the package fee. We will share the document checklist after the booking is confirmed. Apply at least 30 days before departure as documentation is detailed.
What is the weather like during the listed departures?
May and June daytime temperatures are 18 to 26 degrees with light rain possible during the early-June rainy season. July and August are warm and humid at 26 to 33 degrees. Pack a light rain jacket year-round.
Are vegetarian and Jain meals available?
Yes. All dinners are at Indian or vegetarian restaurants in each city. Pure-veg breakfast options are arranged at the hotels. Onion and garlic-free Jain meals can be pre-arranged with 7 days notice. Hidden bonito and dashi are common in Japanese food, so we plan meals carefully.
Will I see Mt Fuji from the 5th station?
Visibility depends on weather. The 5th station is at 2,300 metres and on a clear day you can see the summit from close range. Clouds are common, so the tour manager may adjust the order of the day to maximise viewing.
How fit do I need to be?
Moderate. Expect 6 to 8 kilometres of walking per day on temple steps and metro stairs, and some long bullet train transfers with luggage.
What should I pack?
Layered clothing, a light rain jacket, comfortable walking shoes already broken in, easy slip-on shoes for temple visits, a power adapter for the Japanese two-pin Type A socket, and any personal medication.
Can I extend the trip on my own?
Yes. Common add-ons include 2 nights in Osaka, a Hiroshima and Miyajima loop, or a Mt Fuji ryokan night. Speak to our consultant at the time of booking.
