A compact, high-impact introduction to Kenya's safari country in five days, built around the legendary Masai Mara. You start in Nairobi, head to the Great Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru for its rhinos and the pink wading birds fringing its shoreline, then spend two nights in the Mara with twice-daily game drives in 4x4 vehicles. This is the heart of big-cat country and, from July to October, the stage for the Great Migration river crossings. All park fees and all meals on safari are included, so the focus stays on wildlife. Pacing is efficient rather than leisurely given the short duration. A dawn hot-air balloon safari over the Mara is a memorable optional add-on. Wildlife sightings are wild and never guaranteed, though the Mara's density is exceptional. starting at INR 1,75,000 per person. Covers Nairobi 1N, Lake Nakuru 1N, Masai Mara 2N.
Arrive in Nairobi, Kenya's capital, and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is for rest and acclimatisation. Optional visits such as the Giraffe Centre or the David Sheldrick elephant orphanage can be arranged for those keen to start early.
Drive north with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, then enter Lake Nakuru National Park for an afternoon game drive. The park is a rhino sanctuary, home to both black and white rhino, with flamingos and pelicans often massing along the lake. Overnight near the park.
Travel south to the Masai Mara, arriving in time for an afternoon game drive across the famous open grasslands. Keep watch for lion, elephant, buffalo and cheetah as the light softens. Settle into your tented camp for dinner under the African sky.
A full day of game viewing with morning and afternoon drives, maximising your chances with the big cats and, in season, the wildebeest herds. An optional dawn hot-air balloon safari with a bush breakfast is the highlight add-on. All meals at camp.
An optional early game drive, then drive back to Nairobi. Depending on your flight, there may be time for a final meal or souvenir shopping before transferring to the airport for your departure.
