Frequently asked questions

Do Indian passport holders need a visa?

Yes, two separate visas. A Schengen visa for Italy, Switzerland, and France and a UK Standard Visitor visa for England. Both fees and processing support are included in the package. Apply at least 45 days before departure as UK visa appointments can be slow.

What is the weather like in May and June?

Late spring to early summer with daytime temperatures of 18 to 26 degrees in Italy and 14 to 24 degrees in Switzerland, France, and England. Mt Titlis is below zero year-round. Pack layers, a heavy jacket for the snow day, and a compact umbrella.

Are vegetarian and Jain meals available?

Yes. All dinners are at Indian restaurants and most offer Jain options on prior request. London's Wembley area in particular has excellent Jain restaurants.

Is this long tour comfortable?

The pace is well-balanced thanks to multi-night stops in the main cities. Coaches are air-conditioned with washrooms on board, and the train links from Zurich to Paris to London are the comfortable highlights of the tour.

How fit do I need to be?

Moderate to high. Expect 6 to 8 kilometres of walking per day on cobbled streets and several long coach days. Anti-skid grips on your shoes help at Mt Titlis.

What should I pack?

Layered clothing, a heavy jacket and gloves for Mt Titlis, a compact umbrella, comfortable walking shoes already broken in, a power adapter for UK, European, Swiss, and Italian sockets, and any personal medication.

Can I extend the trip on my own?

Yes. Common add-ons include Edinburgh after London, or Venice and Florence overnight stops between Milan and Rome. Speak to our consultant at the time of booking.
