Day 1: Arrival in Leh - rest

Fly into Leh at around 3,500m and transfer to your hotel. Spend the day resting to acclimatise to the high altitude, an essential first step. Take it very easy, hydrate well, and only a gentle short walk if you feel up to it. Overnight in Leh.

Day 2: Leh local sightseeing

A gentle local day: visit the hilltop Shanti Stupa for panoramic views, the historic Leh Palace overlooking the old town, and explore the lively Leh market. Keep activity moderate as your body continues to adjust to the altitude. Overnight in Leh.

Day 3: Monasteries & Sindhu Darshan

Tour the great Indus-valley monasteries: Thiksey (resembling Lhasa's Potala), the large Hemis monastery, and Shey Palace. Visit the Sindhu Darshan point by the Indus river and the Hall of Fame. A rewarding cultural day at a manageable pace. Overnight in Leh.

Day 4: Pangong Lake day excursion

A long day-excursion over Chang La pass to the breathtaking Pangong Lake, famous for its ever-changing shades of blue against barren mountains. Spend time at the lakeshore before the drive back to Leh (weather permitting). Overnight in Leh.

Day 5: Departure from Leh

After breakfast and check-out, transfer to Leh airport for your onward departure. Optional early photo stop toward Khardung La if your flight timing allows. End of the trip.
