Glimpses of Switzerland day-by-day itinerary (4N/5D)

Day 1: Arrival in Zurich

Arrive in Zurich and transfer to your hotel. Use the free evening to explore the old town, the Limmat riverbanks and the Bahnhofstrasse, or relax by Lake Zurich after the journey. An easy first day to acclimatise.

Day 2: Zurich to Engelberg region

Travel towards the Engelberg and Lucerne area and check in. With the afternoon free, you might wander Engelberg's alpine village, visit its Benedictine monastery, or rest ahead of the mountain excursion. The setting is greener and quieter than the cities.

Day 3: Mt Titlis cable-car day

Ride the Titlis Rotair rotating cable car up to the glacier at around 3,000 metres. Cross the Titlis Cliff Walk suspension bridge, take the Ice Flyer chairlift over crevasses, and enjoy the snow and ice cave at the top before returning for the night.

Day 4: Lucerne tour and on to Interlaken

A guided Lucerne city tour covers the Chapel Bridge, Water Tower and the moving Lion Monument, with free time on the lakefront. Continue by scenic train to Interlaken, arriving in the evening between its two lakes.

Day 5: Interlaken and departure

In Interlaken you can add the Harder Kulm funicular for sweeping views over the town and lakes, or a Schilthorn-style Bernese Oberland excursion, before the tour ends. Onward travel to your departure airport rounds off the trip.

Frequently asked questions

Do Indian travellers need a Schengen visa?

Yes. A short-stay Schengen visa is required. The fee is roughly 9,500 rupees and is excluded; the operator provides documentation assistance only.

When is the best season?

May to early October for green-summer scenery and reliable mountain views. December to March is good for snow but several alpine excursions are weather-dependent.

Are vegetarian or Jain meals available?

Breakfasts are vegetarian-friendly. The Indian-dinner add-on is the easiest way to secure consistent vegetarian or Jain options on this land-only tour.

How much walking is involved?

Moderate. Cable cars handle the height, but old-town tours and cobbled streets mean 4 to 6 km of walking on city days.

Is it land-only?

Yes. Flights and visa are not included; the package starts and ends at Zurich airport.

Can it be customised?

Yes. Frequent upgrades include a Jungfraujoch day and an extra night in Zermatt.
