Bhutan Honeymoon Special day-by-day itinerary (5N/6D)
Day 1: Arrive and transfer to Thimphu
Arrive into Bhutan and meet your guide for the transfer to Thimphu. Check in to your hotel and ease into the trip with an evening orientation walk through the capital, perhaps a quiet riverside dinner to mark the start of your honeymoon.
Day 2: Thimphu sightseeing
Explore the capital together: the Memorial Chorten, the towering Buddha Dordenma with valley views, and Tashichho Dzong. Add the takin preserve or a craft market, and browse for keepsakes on Norzin Lam. Your guide shares Bhutan's Buddhist traditions throughout the day.
Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula
Cross the 3,100-metre Dochula Pass with its 108 chortens and possible Himalayan panorama (weather permitting), descending into the subtropical Punakha valley. Visit the romantic riverside Punakha Dzong and walk the long suspension bridge over the Po Chhu before overnighting.
Day 4: Punakha to Paro and farmstay
Drive back over Dochula to Paro and check in to your luxury farmstay among the terraced fields. Unwind with a traditional hot stone bath, a centuries-old Bhutanese wellness ritual, followed by a farmhouse dinner accompanied by a cultural show of masked dances.
Day 5: Tiger's Nest hike together
Share the climb to the cliffside Taktsang, the Tiger's Nest monastery, on a two-to-three-hour ascent with a cafeteria rest point and optional ponies partway. Celebrate the achievement with a relaxed final evening in the Paro valley.
Day 6: Depart from Paro
After a leisurely breakfast at the farmstay and a last photo stop at Paro Dzong if time allows, transfer for your onward departure from the valley.
