Bhutan Weekend (Druk Air Express) tour package — 2N/3D itinerary, price and inclusions

A fast 2-night Bhutan getaway built for the time-constrained, flying in and out on Druk Air to skip the long border road entirely. The compressed schedule still squeezes in the essentials: a shortened version of the Tiger's Nest experience, the historic Paro Rinpung Dzong, and Thimphu's giant Buddha Dordenma. Expect a brisk pace and one of the world's most dramatic mountain landings, with a local guide to add cultural context along the way. The cost per day runs high given the fixed Sustainable Development Fee and flights, but for a long-weekend taste of the kingdom it delivers the highlights efficiently. Best suited to travellers who simply cannot spare more days. starting at INR 35,000 per person. Covers Paro 1N, Thimphu 1N.

Bhutan Weekend (Druk Air Express) day-by-day itinerary (2N/3D)

Day 1: Fly into Paro, Paro sights

Arrive on the scenic Druk Air flight into Paro and meet your guide. Acclimatise gently in the evening.

Day 2: Paro to Thimphu

Drive about an hour and a half to the capital. Visit the giant Buddha Dordenma statue overlooking the valley and, time allowing, the Memorial Chorten and Tashichho Dzong. Enjoy a brief but rich cultural immersion with your guide before an evening in Thimphu or back in Paro.

Day 3: Depart from Paro

After breakfast, a final photo stop in the Paro valley before transferring to the airport for your Druk Air return flight out of the mountains.

Frequently asked questions

Is 2 nights too short?

Can I do Tiger's Nest in 2 nights?

Yes - Day 1 arrival, Day 2 Tiger's Nest hike, Day 3 Thimphu + departure. Tight but doable.

How early are Paro flights?

Druk Air departures from Paro are usually morning to ensure clear weather. Plan for 7am hotel pickup.

Are weekend rates higher?

Yes - SDF is fixed but hotels charge weekend premiums in October-November peak.

Should I do this trip?

Only if a 5-night trip is impossible. Otherwise the standard 5N gives a far better Bhutan experience.
